FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

Will this downlight still provide lighting during a power outage?

Yes. It’s equipped with an 8W backup battery that provides 666 lumens of emergency illumination for up to 90 minutes during an outage.

What does the test button do? How should I perform routine tests?

The exposed test button simulates a power outage so you can verify operation without disassembly, streamlining routine checks and record-keeping. Most jurisdictions require periodic function tests and a duration test (e.g., annual 90-minute). Follow your AHJ’s schedule and documentation rules.

After power is restored, do I need to recharge it manually?

No. The backup battery recharges automatically when power returns—no manual action needed. Charging and maintenance are affected by ambient temperature; follow the manual for periodic inspections to extend battery life.

Is installation complex? Do I need extra emergency components or a separate box?

It’s a pre-wired, complete solution, minimizing guesswork. Typically it ties to an unswitched feed so it automatically enters emergency mode on power loss; any switched/dimmed control for normal lighting should be wired per the manual by a qualified electrician.
