Is this fixture actually 2-hour fire rated and to which standards?

Yes. It’s tested for up to 2 hours per UL 263 / ASTM E119 / CAN/ULC-S101 and is designed for use in code-regulated, fire-rated assemblies. Always install per the tested assembly and local code.

Do I need a separate fire box or can?

No separate can is required. This is a canless, fire-rated unit with a pre-installed metal J-box and FT6 fire-resistant wiring.

Is it IC rated and airtight? Can I bury it in insulation?

Yes, IC rated and airtight. It can be in contact with insulation and helps block air/smoke movement across the ceiling line.

Can I daisy-chain multiple fixtures from the J-box?

This unit’s “max connect” is 1 pc; treat each fixture with its own feed per code unless your layout and code allow additional splices.
