    FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

Is this sold as a single housing?

Yes. One housing per unit, complete with plaster frame, bar hangers, junction box with flexible whip and push-in connectors, and a round cut-out template sticker. Order any quantity the job needs.

What is the size and voltage of this housing?

The can measures 4-1/4 in. in diameter by 5-5/8 in. deep. It is line voltage, 120V 60Hz, with an E26 medium-base socket on an adjustable bracket.

    How is it wired?

The junction box carries a black (hot) and a white (neutral) lead with push-in connectors, plus a ground screw for the ground wire. Bring Romex or flexible armored cable in through the box knockouts. The box is rated for up to eight #12 AWG conductors rated 90°C (4 in, 4 out), AC only.

Is this housing IC-rated and air-tight?

The housing label reads Type IC and the can is thermally protected; the air-tight gasket comes pre-installed. Stay within the lamp wattage printed inside the can. Where the label calls for Non-IC conditions, keep thermal insulation at least 3 in. away from the housing.
