We need lighting that brightens the workspace but also keeps the ceiling from feeling dark. Can this fixture do both?

Yes. The dual-light design outputs 40W downward for task lighting and 15W upward for ceiling glow. This balances room brightness, softens contrast, and prevents “cave effect” in offices or studios.

Why is an up-and-down light better than a regular pendant?

Regular pendants only light downward, creating harsh shadows and uneven ceilings. Up-and-down lights brighten both surfaces, improving ambience and reducing visual fatigue.

Is the downward light comfortable for office or workstation use?

Yes. The downward beam uses an anti-glare UGR < 19 diffuser, providing uniform task lighting that reduces eye strain even under long working hours.

How much brighter is this than a standard 4FT linear fixture?

With a total 55W output (4000 lm total — 2700 lm down, 1300 lm up), it’s roughly 30–40% brighter in perceived illumination because the ceiling reflection adds ambient light.
