FAQ

Questions showcase builders ask first.

Lighting a display case

How do you light a glass display cabinet without visible fixtures?

Recess the track in the top rail or a corner post and aim the heads down onto the pieces. No poles on the deck, no cables across the glass.

What is magnetic track lighting?

A 24V rail with the conductors inside. Heads hold on magnetically and take power from the rail, so they slide and swap without tools. Mini-Track is the 14 mm version for cabinets.

What kind of lights do jewelry stores use?

Small aimable spots, one per piece or tray: 3000K for gold and warm stones, 4000K for diamonds and silver. That is the Mini-Track spot head on a hidden track.

Best color temperature for jewelry, watches and cards?

To order. Most specify 3000K (gold, leather, warm stones) or 4000K (diamonds, silver, cards, electronics).

LED strip or spotlights inside the case?

Both, on the same track. The strip head washes a shelf evenly; the spots pick out hero pieces. Mix them on one rail and move them as the display changes.

How do you light a trophy cabinet or a figure display with glass shelves?

Run the track up the side panels. Heads sit at each shelf's height and aim across, so every level gets its own light and the shelves above do not shade the ones below.

Curio cabinet, china cabinet, trophy case: does it fit?

Yes. Any cabinet with a 12 × 12 mm groove or a top rail takes the track; the 24V driver sits outside the case. Heads can be added later.

Do the lights get hot inside a closed case?

No. Heads draw 1 to 7 W each on 24V. The case stays cool and the goods are not baked.

Building and ordering

How do the heads attach to the track?

Magnetically; 24V comes from the rail. No polarity, so either way round. Slide or swap any head; the aimable spot also rotates and tilts. No tools.

Can I add or move heads after the showcase is built?

Yes. Power runs the whole length, so heads move, add or remove whenever the display changes.

What does the cabinet need?

A 12 × 12 mm groove (15/32 in) in the side panel, top rail or frame. Track drops in, flange on the face, clips hold it. All-glass cases: top rail or corner post.

Can it go into an existing showcase?

Recessed track needs a 12 × 12 mm groove cut into the side panel or rail. The shelf-display rail can surface-mount on a bracket where cutting is not an option.

Which power supply?

Any 24V DC Class 2 supply. Power Core recommended: 36 / 60 / 96 W, six runs each. MT-IN-S input adds hand-wave switching, 3–8 cm range.

How many heads will one driver run?

Add the head watts: 1.2 W spot, 1 W micro spot, 7 W bar, 3.05 W per foot of strip. Keep under 80% of driver rating and 72 W (3 A) per feed. The planner does the arithmetic.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, on the 24V side: dimmable driver or hand-wave controller. Wall dimmer as long as your driver supports it.

How do I turn a corner or run down a side wall?

MT-CR-F: 90° in the same plane. MT-CR-V: onto the adjacent face. MT-JN: joins two lengths in line.

Replacement bulbs?

None. Heads are sealed LED, rated 50,000 hours; swap the head, not the case. Three-year warranty.

Is there a minimum order?

No. One case or a full fit-out. Track by the length, heads by the piece.

How long does a quote take?

Usually within 24 hours. Custom color temperature or finish takes longer: we confirm it with the factory first.
