The whole system

Eight parts. No soldering.

A single section goes up to 9.8 ft a run, fed from one end; lengths join with a bridge connector. Every length arrives cut, capped and wired; every connection after that is a plug or a spring contact. Power Core and the leads sit inside the cabinet, so all you see is the light.

Power and control

Plug in. Wave. Open the door.

The channel ends in a standard low-voltage plug, so any 24V Class 2 supply runs it. Power Core is the driver we recommend: the sensors plug into it.

Power Core

36 · 60 · 96 W

The 24V driver. Five outputs feed five runs; two control ports on the side take the sensors' pink plugs. Plugs into an outlet or wires to a switch.

6-way distributor

One feed, six runs

Splits one 24V lead into six, for runs on different shelves or doors from one driver.

Door sensor

12 mm hole

Sits flush in a 12 mm hole, a screw through its ear. Open the door, the light comes on; close it, off.

Hand-wave sensor

12 mm hole

A wave switches the run on and off without a touch. Same head and hole, same control port.

Bridge connector

Length to length

Joins two lengths end to end with a slim flange between them. Spring contacts carry 24V across: no soldering, one lit line.

Size the driver

Surface Mod at 3.66 W per foot, the driver loaded to 80%. Other profiles are in the catalog. A run still stops at 9.8 ft: a bigger driver feeds more runs, not a longer one.

Power Core 36 WUp to 7.9 ft (2.4 m) of Surface Mod
Power Core 60 WUp to 13.1 ft (4.0 m) of Surface Mod
Power Core 96 WUp to 21.0 ft (6.4 m) of Surface Mod

Every Power Core is UL listed and CSA certified, with overload, over-voltage, over-temperature and short-circuit protection. Drivers link in parallel, power cord and signal wire.

The rest of the parts box

  • Zone control converter

One Power Core, separately switched zones: a sensor for each cabinet.

  • PIR motion sensor

Comes on when someone walks up. Same 12 mm hole and control port as the others.

  • CCT reversal cable

Switches a run between 2700K and 4000K. Plug and play, nothing rewired.

  • L-corner connector

Joins two lengths at a right angle for L-shaped runs.

  • Jumper cable

Carries 24V across a gap, a range hood or a window, between two lengths.

  • Connection cable

Channel to driver; the 6.5 ft extension reaches a driver further away.

  • Parallel cable

Links drivers when a layout needs more than one.

  • Mounting clip kit

Clips screw under the cabinet; the channel snaps in.

  • End cap kit

Spare caps, shaped to each profile.

For the casework trades

Seven shop steps become three.

Cabinet shops, closet installers, display fixture builders, millwork. A kit moves assembly to your bench; Xaact arrives finished.

Strip and extrusion kit

  1. Source LED tape from one vendor
  2. Source extrusion and diffuser from another
  3. Measure on site
  4. Cut tape and extrusion separately
  5. Solder leads, heat-shrink, test polarity
  6. Fit diffuser, end caps, mount
  7. Troubleshoot the joint that failed

What you do

Send the measurements. We send the light.

  1. Measure each run

The cabinet widths and where the outlet or switch is. A sketch or a photo is fine.

  2. We cut, cap and label

Every length cut to your list, capped, fitted with its lead and plug and labeled by run, with the driver and sensors you need.

  3. Clip in, plug in

Clips go under the cabinet, the lengths click together, the plug goes into Power Core.

Warranty and support

Three years. Field-replaceable. A real person on the phone.

  1. Three-year warranty

On the channel, the driver and every accessory.

  2. One part, not the run

Every joint is a plug or a spring contact, so a service call swaps one length.

  3. Layout with every quote

Send a drawing: runs, driver and sensors come back planned. Wiring question on site? Our US team picks up.

Questions

Before you order.

Can LED channel be cut to length?

Yes, and we do the cutting. Send each run to the ⅛ inch; every piece comes back cut, capped at both ends, fitted with its lead and plug, and labeled, so nothing is cut on site. A single section goes up to 9.8 ft a run, fed from one end.

Hardwired or plug-in under-cabinet lighting?

Same channel either way. Power Core plugs into an outlet inside the cabinet or wires to a switch leg. Plug-in for retrofits; hardwired when the kitchen is being wired anyway.

LED channel or puck lights under cabinets?

A continuous channel puts an even line of light on the counter; pucks make pools and shadows. Xaact is a channel: 150 LEDs per meter behind a diffuser, no dots.

Where does under-cabinet lighting go: front or back?

Front third of the cabinet underside, behind the light rail, so the counter is lit and the backsplash does not glare. When the channel has to sit at the back, Surface Angular throws the light forward.

Warm white or cool white for a kitchen?

Both are in every channel: 2700K warm and 4000K neutral. Reverse the connector to switch, or fit the CCT reversal cable. No controller, nothing rewired, and you can change it again later.

Can Xaact dim?

Yes. The hand-wave sensor switches the run with a wave and dims it 10–100% when you hold your hand under it. A dimmable 24V driver works too.

Is there a sensor option for closets and pantries?

Yes. A door sensor or a hand-wave sensor sits flush in a 12 mm hole and plugs into Power Core, so a closet, wardrobe or pantry run switches itself.

Does the same channel work for toe kick, cove and shelf lighting?

Yes. Surface Mod under toe kicks and in coves, Recessed Tilt in display shelving, Recessed Ultra-slim in a narrow reveal. One connector family, one driver.

Do I need a driver? Can I use my own?

Yes, a 24V DC driver. Power Core 36, 60 or 96 W is recommended because the sensors plug into it. Any 24V DC Class 2 supply works on the standard low-voltage plug.

Can I add under-cabinet lighting after the backsplash is in?

Yes. Surface profiles clip to the cabinet underside and Power Core plugs into an existing outlet; nothing opens up in the wall.

How long do the lights last?

Rated 50,000 hours. Every part can be replaced on its own, and the warranty is three years.

Is Xaact waterproof?

No. IP4X keeps dust out of the LED cavity. Indoor, dry locations.

How long can one run be?

A single section goes up to 9.8 ft a run, on one feed. Longer layouts split into several runs from the same driver: Power Core has five outputs, and the 6-way distributor adds more.

Are end caps interchangeable between profiles?

No. Each profile has its own caps and connectors, shaped to its section. Your quote lists the right ones.

Is there a minimum order?

No. One length or a production run, cut to your list.

Your lengths. Cut by us. Ready to plug in.
